When it comes to Thailand’s beaches, there is definitely no shortage of options. With over 5,000 miles of coastline, the country boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. From secluded coves to bustling party hubs, there is a beach for everyone in Thailand. Here are our top 5 beaches in Thailand that we suggest you try and visit on your next holiday to Thailand.

Ton Sai Beach, Krabi

A remote island in Thailand between Phuket and Ko Lanta, Ton Sai Beach is known for its laid-back vibe away from the hustle and bustle of its neighbouring beaches. A paradise on earth, the beach is surrounded by high palm trees, gigantic rock formations and an incredibly beautiful sandy beach. It’s an undisturbed place under the sun, perfect to relax on whilst drinking a cold beer at the famous Freedom Bar at the top of the beach along with spectacular cliffs.

Sunset Beach, Koh Lipa

Also known as Hat Pramong, this 200-metre-long beach is the best place to watch the sun go down and is not as crowded as others. The beaches main bar, the Banana Bar, is a semi-permanent structure located about halfway along the beach behind the tree line. A great place for swimming, the beach is clean and peaceful and ideal for families.

Maenam Beach, Koh Samui

One of the most beautiful beaches on the island of Koh Samui, this tranquil golden sandy beach with its turquoise sea and amazing hotels is ideal for luxury holidays to Thailand. If you are looking for a relaxed, chilled out time away, Maenam Beach is the one for you. If you do find yourself getting restless there are some amazing excursions available to you so check them out.

Long Beach, Koh Lanta

A tranquil island off the coast of Krabi, Koh Lanta is known for its relaxed way of life and its long sandy beaches, the most popular being Long Beach. As you can tell from the name, the beach is over 3 kilometres long and is home to wind, sand and sea, perfect for those looking to sunbathe or enjoy some watersports, and also boasts breathtaking sunsets over the Adaman Sea.

Maya Bay, Koh Phi Phi

Thanks to its cinematic crescent-shaped bay, turquoise water and sugar-white sand, Maya Bay is one of the most popular and busy beaches in Thailand. Sheltered by 100 meter high cliffs on three sides, you can enjoy several beaches here. The main beach is around 200 meters long with sleek soft white sand. The beach became a popular attraction after the movie ‘The Beach’ (1999) was filmed here. The underwater part of the beach features colourful coral and exotic fishes easy to see in the clear waters. Just be prepared for the hustle and bustle of many tourists if you do decide to visit, and make sure you check the beach is actually open as from time to time the authorities close it to protect it from too much footfall.

No matter what your preferences are, you’re sure to find the perfect Thailand beach for you. So, what are you waiting for? Start planning your trip today!
