Thailand – do you want amazing food, great low prices, incredible hotels and beautiful islands with the ease of getting around? These are just a few reasons why Thailand is so popular with holidaymakers. But perhaps one of the main draws is that Thailand has some of the world’s amazing scenic beaches, from palm-fringed island beaches to the popular shores of Phuket, many of which can also offer amazing views along with stunning sunsets where you can relax with your partner or friends.

If you are a beach lover then you’ll not be short of options. Take a look at some of our top picks below to consider visiting when on luxury holidays to Thailand.

Maenam Beach

An amazing beach located on Koh Samui. This beach is recommended for those looking for relaxation and tranquillity. A long golden beach with a beautiful view of the island of Koh Phangan. On this beach of Maenam, there are restaurants, bungalows and luxury resorts. You will also find several bars. This beach is ideal if you are looking to relax with a good book and maybe have an amazing Thai massage too.

The sea can get deep pretty quickly in places which makes Maenam Beach possibly less suitable for families with young children. The water is generally quite calm. During high tide, this beach is narrow, so more difficult to take a stroll. If you’re a swimmer the water at Maenam Beach is deep enough for swimming. Note due to the current the water can be less clear than at other beaches but is not less tempting.

Your evenings at Maenam Beach are friendly and relaxed. You can also easily take the boat to Koh Tao or Koh Phangan from the pier on Maenam Beach. On Koh Phangan they have a party if it is dark, half-moon or full moon, in other words on Koh Phangan there is always a reason for a party! The boats to Koh Tao and Koh Phangan leave from the Maenam pier at noon.

Sunset Beach

Found on Koh Lipe, the beach is also known as Hat Pramong. The name says it all, you can see the sunset extremely well here and it is beautiful! This 200-metre-long beach in the north is less crowded than some other beaches and can be reached via Walking Street, which takes up to 15 minutes. You can also take a taxi. Taxis are scooters with a sidecar but on Koh Lipe is the norm! On the road near the beach after sunset, there are always several taxis to take you home.

Sunset Beach is often quiet during the day. There is also a nice breeze on the west side of Koh Lipe and several trees along and on the beach that will provide shade. Visit the restaurant of the Bay View Sunset Resort. They sure know how to serve up a coconut shake or Mojito! You can also enjoy the sunset and you will find the little restaurant on stilts on the far left side of the bay.

Long Beach

This is the largest and most popular of Koh Lanta’s beaches, just a 10-minute drive from Saladan village and the ferry port. You’ll be met by beautiful golden soft sand which stretches for 5 kilometres and is edged with tall pine trees. The beach gently slopes towards the sea where the water goes deep very quickly, creating the perfect place to swim.

Because Long Beach’s resorts, guesthouses, bars and restaurants are all scattered along the whole length of the beach and set back amongst the trees, this beach remains wide open with very few sunbeds or restaurant tables taking up space on the beach. This leaves the beach with a breathtaking sense of space along the beautiful beach.

Long Beach’s bars also provide the perfect location for watching Koh Lanta’s stunning sunsets and as it has such a wide, uninterrupted view of the horizon, it offers amazing picturesque views so don’t forget your camera!

The quickest way to get to Long Beach is by express transfer. This is a mix between a minivan and a speedboat to get you door to door from Krabi Airport to your Koh Lanta hotel. You can also get a private minivan transfer which is great for families and groups of friends.

So there you have it, some lovely beaches to consider which will leave you wanting to visit Thailand again and again as well as create a lifetime of memories! Let us know which you choose to visit when on luxury Thailand holidays.
